Mohsin Raza started his career as a music composer in 1971. He is an educated person having obtained formal education from Government College, Lahore. It was rigorous training, practice, hard work and education in the domain of making music compositions from Khwaja Khurshid Anwar, Ustad Nazar Hussain and Master Sadiq that within no time he made a distinctive name for himself in outstanding Music Director both at PTV and Radio Pakistan, he has by now composed for and conducted more than thousands programs for PTV and Radio Pakistan and International firms, especially Stage Shows organized on occasions i.e. Eids, National Days and Awards Ceremonies, notable was the Millennium Show for Madam Noor Jahan. Mohsin Raza has recorded many songs for Broadcasting Houses, Radio Pakistan, Lahore. He has more than 4000 musical compositions for film, TV and Radio to his credit. Mohsin Raza is an only music director who made first Election song for political party i.e. Pakistan Peoples Party for the leadership of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto when she had arrived after her first exile in the regime of General Zia ul Haq in 1986 and the Party Song had become most popular i.e. “Bhutto Dey Naray Wajan Gay” it has become a traditions in political culture of Pakistan, I must assure that was first political party song in the World, which is not less than any invention in the Society. Although, he is also composed the first music for Qaseeda Burda Shareef which also became our tradition in society because before this it was only in literature not in music. Thereafter, he recorded made several albums for Qaseedas, Nohays, Soz-o-Salam and Masihah since 1973 till now.

Mohsin Raza is an expert in making tunes and musical arrangements in all branches of music such as Ghazal, Kafi, Thumri, Geets, his forte however remains that of making Ghazal compositions. Accordingly Madam Noor Jahan chose him for making music Mehdi Hassan, Farida Khanum, Ghulam Ali, Abida Parveen, Ustad Fateh All Khan, Mehnaz, Nahid Akhter, Asad Amanat All Khan, Bilqees Khanum, Hamid All Khan, Ustad Raees Khan, Dr. Amjad Parvez, Afshan, Ghulam Abbas, Rajab Ali etc. have also rendered his compositions. By doing so, he has composed for the Great Ustads from classical Gharanas that is an achievements for Mohsin Raza.
